USC President unveils massive commercial build plans in support of NEVA 2015

May 28, 2015

In his letter of support for NEVA 2015, USC President AL Rakhmanov announced commercial shipbuilding plans up to 2020 on an unprecedented scale.

A substantial increase of volume in new builds covering a vast cross-section of vessels and ship repair will provide attractive opportunities to International companies in related industry sectors. Russia will also develop production of world-class ship equipment, inviting International companies independently or jointly with RF partners to open factories in Russia, increasing domestic production to meet the demands of revitalised local shipbuilding.

Significant commercial builds will continue to be placed outside Russia, benefiting international partners on an average 30% of all planned new builds, including:

  • 20% of High-tonnage Vessels
  • 25% of Drilling Platforms
  • 30% of Sea Pipeline Construction Vessels
  • 60% of Fishery Vessels
  • 60% of Floating Docks and Floating Repair Facilities
  • 45% of Russian Ship Repair
